MO Chambers of Commerce – Pharmacies Not a Priority?

Attended Missouri House Health & Mental Health Committee Hearings last week, and experienced a few unexpected scenarios.  This video is clips from the opposition testimony representing Missouri Chambers of Commerce.  

As many of the representatives voiced, pharmacies are often active members of local chambers of commerce.  The primary concerns voiced included how does Missouri Chambers of Commerce feel with the continued loss of membership due to the pharmacies closing, what message is it displaying to pharmacies that the Chamber is not sponsoring a bill to pay at least the cost for goods dispensed, and any other influences that may be coming from specific board or investors of Missouri Chambers of Commerce.

The main question at hand here: are pharmacies no longer a priority for Chambers of Commerce?  Are the sponsorships, volunteer time, or other donations no longer respected if they are from pharmacies?  If you are part of your local chamber, make sure they know where you stand, and how your business is affected by this decision at the state level…
